By William Clark

Referral Traffic

Referral traffic refers to website visitors that come from websites that are not affiliated with you or your company, rather than finding them through a search engine.

Traffic to your site from another site.

Referral traffic is traffic that comes from a link on another website (excluding search engines or social media websites).

They are visitors who arrive at a website through means, pages or platforms linked to its content, usually via a hyperlink (see Hyperlink).

These are website visitors that do not come from organic search. These visits may come from links through social networking sites, backlinks, or other sources.

Referral traffic in Google Analytics shows where a visitor clicked on a link to your site.

Referring website traffic outside the domain and subdomains of the corporate website, e.g. B. blog or social network. When The New York Times publishes an article about your business and links to your website, it is considered referral traffic. Referral traffic can help improve your site's overall ranking in the search engines if the referral links are quality links. UTM tracking also helps you determine which pages and social profiles are driving the most traffic for your site.

All incoming traffic to your site is outside the search engine. Here we include all collected backlinks and links from other platforms, such as social networks.

Traffic is routed to one site from another site. For example, if your website is visited by people who came to your website through a Facebook link, Google Analytics classifies that traffic as a "referrer" in the source/channel report.
