My partner and I discussed food and things. I say food is one thing, but one thing doesn't have to be food. The argument is that food is not a thing, food is a substance and things are things. We look at the dictionary and it says that something is lifeless or consciousness is lifeless.
Food is a thing without life or consciousness, food must be something.
